Testimonials

Elaine and John ran a fantastic dance weekend at the Langstone Cliff Hotel. They are both excellent teachers and we enjoyed evening dances and expert tuition during day sessions. We were welcomed to the friendly group (visitors from a distant county) and nurtured by our charming, friendly and witty table who we sat with through the weekend. We would definitely recommend these weekends for dancers of all standards. A comfortable hotel, good company and wonderful dancing enjoyed by all.

I’ve always wanted to learn how to dance & ‘eventually’ my husband said he’d give it a try for a month…. well that was two & a half years ago! Since then we’ve gone from the complete beginner’s class to the intermediate class, we’ve danced on Weston Super Pier, enjoyed a lovely New Year Dance in Malvern & also two dancing weekends in Bournemouth & Torquay! We even dipped our dancing shoes at Blackpool Tower Ballroom without our dancing family with us, very brave! Really though, you can do/join in as little or as much as you like! You will definitely have fun, make friends & enjoy learning to dance with the ever patient Elaine & John! Thank you guys!

Dancing enriches your life! Scientists tell us that improves your memory, your balance and your metabolism. They tell us that it delays Alzheimers. What they can’t convey is the satisfaction of learning new moves and getting them right – or the sheer joy when you’re really, really responding to music. None of this happens by chance. You have to learn, not always easy as you get older, and never as easy as it looks on Strictly! So you need hardworking, talented professional teachers. Elaine and John and their dedicated team are amazing: they give you confidence, encourage and correct. Any criticism is constructive and supportive. Their regular dance evenings and residential weekends bring together all their students for wonderful friendly gatherings in really good locations. Everyone gets on well – no one gets left out.

Dancing has given me a passion – I absolutely love it. One bonus is that I suffer from arthritis and this hobby really helps to keep my mobility. Elaine is an excellent teacher. She breaks down dances into small elements that are more easily remembered and explains each step very clearly. Each person is helped to develop at their own pace, which suits us because we are not the quickest of learners! Through dancing, we have made new friendships and there are very few evening and weekend events that we miss – good organisation always makes these events very enjoyable.

We wanted to learn to dance so we enjoy ourselves by getting on the dance floor instead of just watching other people.

We joined Elaine’s Dancing School to do something together, and get some gentle exercise, as well as learning to dance. Thankfully for us, Elaine and John are very patient teachers.  Not only did we get all of this but it has given us a wonderful social life and many new friends, with many topics of interest, sport, country life and cooking.

Hi Elaine & John,

Just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU for another great weekend. an absolutely resounding success. Simply the best. The Cheltenham Crew all had a great time. We arrived home in great time. Unpacked, washing on, roast pork in the oven, a glass of wine in hand. The perfect end to a great weekend.

Looking Forward to Dawlish.

Hi Elaine,

I just wanted to say again how much Andy and I enjoyed this last weekend at Dawlish, where we had such a good time. We also wanted to say sincere thanks for your thoughtfulness in placing us on a table with folk we talk to regularly on a Wednesday night, as this made an enormous contribution to our enjoyment – we really feel now that we are beginning to get to know people better, having been able to spend some time with them over meals. We wanted you to know how much we appreciate how much care you take over this aspect of the weekends, as well as the actual dancing. We came back inspired and determined to keep on learning!

We are so impressed by the work that goes into making these weekends such a success, especially in difficult personal circumstances and send our best wishes and gratitude to you all.

See you tomorrow evening,

Carole and Andy

Dear Elaine,
Just to thank you for a really good weekend at Dawlish Warren. We were very aware of how difficult it must have been for you with your concern about your parents and wanted to say how much we admired and appreciated your ‘the show must go attitude’. It did go on – superbly.
I hope that your dad’s return home went ok and that you have a good package of professional support for them both.
Please pass on our thanks to John and john as well.
Best wishes,
Pat and John

Ok so where were we? Having a fabulous weekend with Elaine’s Dancing School over 60 of us journeyed to St Anne’s on Sea on Friday we danced the night away at the hotel, Saturday it was cream tea and dancing to the sound of the Wurlitzer, (the live synchronisation of the music when the organists change over is superb) It could only be The Blackpool Tower Ballroom – pure magic for us Ballroom & Latin dancers. Back to the hotel and more dancing – midnight the feet were in cold water whilst I sat on the side of the bath – but absolutely worth it.  The slick organisation of Elaine and her dance team make every weekend away so enjoyable – behind that of course is a huge amount of hard work!

You’ve done it again ……..

Another brilliant weekend in  Dawlish, the Cheltenham gang all had a great time and the ‘In the Navy’ theme went down well with lots of fun, laughter and of course dancing.

The fact that you had a dodgy foot didn’t stop you at all with assistance from your excellent helper, John!!

Thanks for a great time.

Dear Elaine and John,

Thank you both for all the work and effort that you put in to making such a success of the weekend in Dawlish.

We had a great time , loved the music and dancing and enjoyed meeting up with new friends.

We’re trying out the tango routine but the rumba needs considerable work – back to the video for help!

Hope your foot survived the weekend – make sure you rest it properly. Easy to say not so easy to do.

Many thanks once again for a super weekend.

Best wishes
